Garlic Grade Regulations

1.Scope

The Standard regulates the requirements for garlic related to quality, trading grade specification, substitutable goods of delivering and accepting, packing and etc.

The Standard is suitable to both parties who trade through the e-trading platform of the Market, and it is not suitable to garlic trading that happens outside of the Market.

2. Cited document

The flowing items will be items of the Standard cited by the Standard. When citing dated files, all the changes (not including error-check content) or revised versions are not suitable to the Standard; but we encourage all parties, who have reached agreement according to the Standard, to research the possibility of using updated version of these documents. When citing non-dated files, its updated version is suitable to the Standard.

3.Terms and Definition

 

The same variety, maturity and colour should be same, regular shape, solid and plump, integrity, cleanliness and normal odor,no mildewed, no germinating, no scalding, no worm-bitten, no scattered petal, no wrinkled-clove and empty, no mummified garlic, no multi-layered garlic and no one-clove garlic as well as no mechanical injury garlic is accord with terms and definitions in SB/T10348-2002.

 

4.Garlic Grade Requirement

 

4.1Variety

 

Quoting garlic of e-matching trading refers to standardized goods of normal white garlic(hybrid garlic), specification is 5.5-6.0£šincluding 5.5£©; substitutable goods should have same quality, specification is 5.0,6.0,6.5.

 

4.2 Quality and Specification

 

 

Quality Requirement

1. For the same variety, maturity and colour should be same, regular shape, solid and plump, integrity, cleanliness and normal odor.

2. No mildewed, no germinating, no scalding, no worm-bitten, no scattered petal, no wrinkled-clove and empty, no mummified garlic, no multi-layered garlic and no one-clove garlic as well as no mechanical injury.

Substitutable Goods: 6.5Transverse Diameter more than6.5 CM£šincluding 6.5CM£©

Substitutable Goods: 5.0Transverse Diameter5.0-5.5CM£šincluding 5.0CM£©

Specifications mentioned above should be no more than 2CM in length of peduncle and no root hairs.

Limitations

Sum of disqualification rate according to the Quality Requirement is on a limit of 5% calculated by weight, among it, disqualification rate in item 2 should be no more than 2.5%. In specification, sum of disqualification rate should be no more than 10% calculated by weight.

Notes

1.Standardized and Substitutable goods refer to hybrid garlic that is accord with the above quality and specifications

2. Price Difference in substitutable goods and standardized goods are calculated in premium and agio.

3. Garlic with the transverse diameter more than 7.0CM and less than 5.0 CM will be not taken as substitutable goods for delivery and acceptance.

4. Specification of standard goods in the Regulation will be adjusted according to annual garlic production.

6. Garlic in the Regulation here refers to garlic produced in current year.

6.Inspection Rule

 

Follow item 6 in SB/T10348-2002 Standard.

 

7.Packing

 

Garlic should be packed by specification: first class Taixin Bright Bag (50¡Á90CM), first class and second class Taixin Bright Bag (57¡Á98CM) or Violet Net Bag (20kg).

 

8.Transportation and Storage

 

Follow item 8 in SB/T10348-2002 Standard.
